Redistribute

Our Recycling program is designed to create a network of nonprofits in Seattle that have similar values and goals. We aim to redistribute as many resources as possible that we get donated or pick up from downsizing. In doing so, we hope to strengthen our community and businesses by sharing and creating connection. This will lead to reducing waste and reinvigorating the power of helping out your neighbor without it being transactional. This program is currently being built and we hope to update the community mid-Spring.

If you have resources to share or want to be a part, please email info@everlyseattle.org

Resource Sharing

We recognize the need for the community to be more involved helping each other out. And we also acknowledge that running a nonprofit can mean you have limited resources or time to learn about other nonprofits in the area that can help. Our Recycling Manager will work on creating relationships with any nonprofit in the greater Seattle area, until we build the resources ourselves to include areas outside of King County. From these relationships, we can offer any resources that we get in that they may need to support their missions, or offer to move resources from them to another nonprofit.

  • Sending gardening items to pea patches or other community run outdoor activities.

  • Replenishing tool sharing programs.

  • Books for Little Libraries.

  • Home improvement materials to reuse stores.

  • Art supplies to nonprofits who need them.

  • Clothes to free closets.

  • Fabric or textiles to those who need it.

Recycling Station

We will work on creating room at one of our partner's spaces to collect items from the community that they need help recycling, such as electronic items, plastics, or cardboard.

Education and Reporting

We are working, with the help of our Intern and volunteers, to share information and to educate about the current state of recycling in Washington State. Whether this is researching companies that follow through, or not, with promises of recycling materials, or introducing and highlighting companies that currently are making a difference. Our team will post regular blogs on companies or issues they have investigated, and ask for the community to send in ideas or questions they would like answered.
